I know you have discovered that while driving, a lot of activities happens around where you are seated ?Right? Most of the activities that makes driving possible and safe is on how you are operating the steering wheel, how you are stepping on the gas, how you are stepping on the breaks, how you are seated ,how you are looking through the front wind screen-holding constant that the car is in good condition and it has the right amount of gas and you have passed the driving School test…..Right…

What happens if you don’t control the steering? what happens if you don’t step on breaks or gas at the right time? What happens if you are not sited well such that you can have a clear view of where you are going?

Driving also requires us to just look through the rear view mirror only to have a glimpse of what is going on behind us and immediately continue looking forward .The rear view mirror help us in making a decision either to overtake, to speed up or change lanes or to not make any changes in that particular time.

The rear view mirror represents our past experiences, where we are only required to have a glimpse of our past and only take note of what information we have got from the past experience that we believe is useful in our present moment. What we pick is a directive or a guide for our present moment moves ,changes and decision’s.

If we look through the rear view mirror and we get fixated on it for a long time its a guarantee that we will be involved in a form of an accident…

In life if we get fixated in the past we can get hurt by depression ,regret, self beating and we can imagine how that can affect our lives.

The heart of driving is looking through the front windscreen for a clear view of where we are headed to, it is also about controlling the steering wheel and the gas and break pedals and so on. This represents the present moment look of our lives….Its where we should be taking a lot of action in a day ,it is where our action has a time factor, is where full focus is required in order to get moving and to reach our destination as planned.

The question is where does our individual self spend more time at?

Is it our past or present?

I strive to spend more time in my present moment and only make a glimpse of my past to pick useful information that can make my present moment a success.

What is your resolution on this? Past or Present?
