Yes, I feel both ways in a Day-Do you? But at what measure? Is it of equal measure? Does it differ? Am I in control of that? Can I change it?

According to Neuroscientists we have 12,000-65,000 thoughts that run through our mind either consciously or unconsciously in a day and interestingly 80% of these thoughts are Negative. Does it therefore mean that to be in a negative state it is almost automatic and we don’t have to put in the effort to be in that state compared to being in a positive state?

The brain ensures that 80% of our thoughts are negative because the brain has a role of protecting us from danger…

The scientific perspective actually left me feeling very annoyed because we all would like the narrative to be the opposite…Right. But Why? We all know that what we thinketh becomes our reality and it affects our decisions and how we feel.

Does this explain why we have more feelings of fear, Self-doubt, sadness, anxiety, depression, loss of motivation, bitterness, anger and so on compared to positive thoughts and feelings.

Does this also explain why we are always striving to be happy? Why We are always striving to become better? Why We are always striving to feel better?

The various fears that we have as humans like the Fear of heights, the fear of public speaking, the fear of criticism ,the fear of failure ,the Fear of not being Enough are created by the protective role of the brain so that we don’t engage in such activities that can either bring hurt ,shame ,disappointment’s and so on….

What thoughts are running through your mind if you were to participate in these scenarios?

Can we change and increase the level of positive thinking to perhaps 50% or 70% or even 90% so that we can experience joy, happiness, positivity, positive outcomes, success and meaning in our lives more and it becomes automatic.

The answer is YES! but we need first to have a deep look at our thoughts and raise our thought awareness so that,

1)We are aware of the negative thoughts that we are thinking.

2) we accept that we are thinking more of negative thoughts and it’s okay.

3)Use the tools available to nurture positive thinking.

Don’t beat yourself up for having negative thoughts most of the time…. We all do…The ones who have mastered positive thinking also have negative thoughts but they have raised their thought awareness and they know what to do to be in a positive state. It’s a skill that we all need to learn….

Which state do you mostly find yourself in?

Type positive or Negative.…. Change starts by knowing yourself ….
